i think the coreavcwindows codec is not working. gianluigi got it
working with his dsnative code tho.

http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php

quote from his site:
dsnative: updated dsnative, now it handles coreavc, ffdshow (some
problems with framedrop), cineformhd, ffdshow dxva untested but it may
work. If the codec is registered in the system you don't need to put i
codecs directory
MPlayer: experimental dsnative wrapper, included in
the package, you can try using -vc coreavc and send me feedbacks
MPlayer: work in progress native dshow video decoder, it works with
coreavc and mpeg4ds on the samples I've tested

you'll have to ask him when he wants to apply dsnative to svn

The thing is dsnative is no offisial thing and I don't really like such
things. I thought that there is some possibilities (maybe patches) to make
it works with -vc coreavcwindows options that, as official thing, must be
working but it is not. But I see that it's not. So we'll wait. May be in
some newer SVN this thing will work (?) Anyway thanks for your reply.

1) You do not need any patches to make CoreAVC working.
2) Check you have codecs.conf in your .\mplayer folder (. is folder
where your mplayer.exe is placed). If you do not have it, copy
mplayer_sources_folder\etc\codecs.conf in .\mplayer
3) check you have section "videocodec coreavcwindows" in codecs.conf
file. If not your version of mplayer is too old (may be more then one
year) - get new version
4) copy CoreAVCDecoder.ax in your .\codecs folder. May be it can work
from original location but I never tried. May be you have to edit part
" dll "CoreAVCDecoder.ax"" in codecs.conf to give full name in this
case.
5) If your copy of CoreAVC is not registered it will not work.

Run
mplayer.exe -vc coreavcwindows ...

If still doe not work then post the log from execution.

1) Of course I have codecs.conf in ./mplayer folder.
2) Of course I have following in codecs.conf file:

videocodec coreavcwindows
info "CoreAVC H.264 for x86 - http://corecodec.org/"
comment "this codec will only work after purchasing it"
status working
fourcc H264,h264
fourcc X264,x264
fourcc avc1 AVC1,AVC1
fourcc davc,DAVC
fourcc VSSH
format 0x10000005
driver dshow
dll "CoreAVCDecoder.ax"
guid 0x09571a4b, 0xf1fe, 0x4c60, 0x97, 0x60, 0xde, 0x6d, 0x31, 0x0c,
0x7c, 0x31
out YV12,IYUV,I420,YUY2

3) Of course I have very new MPlayer because I've compiled it two days ago
after you gave me an advice with error with vorbisencoder during MPlayer
compilation (Thanks again!)
4) First I puted CoreAVCDecoder.ax in ./codecs folder but it it not helped.
5) Next I just installed CoreAVCDecoder in my system.
6) After that I've got working sound and black empty video window without
picture.
7) Here is normal output info:

May here is the reason? Anyway the video window screen is black without

I'll sent to you my Mplayer.exe. Please verify it on your system to be
sure that the problem is not in it. Additionally I found that my MPlayer
has troubles playing some other video formats but I'll wright it in other

I've tried:

mplayer -nocorrect-pts file.mkv and
mplayer -devuxer lavf file.mkv.

Nothing helped.

My config is next:

## MPlayer Windows configuration

## It's better to leave this enabled on Windows, since the console is slow.
quiet=yes

## Frame dropping
#framedrop=yes

## drive letter of your DVD
#dvd-device=d:

## Uncomment this for AC-3 passthrough.
#afm=hwac3

## You can use the DirectX or OpenGL video output, default is directx.
#vo=directx
#vo=gl2

ao=win32

## video filtering and postprocessing
## eq is useful if your video card does not support video overlay.
#vf=pp,eq
#vf=eq,pp=lb/hb/vb

## Fontconfig
fontconfig=yes
font="Freestyle Script"
